What do you like best about Hive?

We are a small company but we still need to communicate effectively. Having a convo on Slack or in-person is all well and good but we found as we got busier, and our clients more complex, that we were forgetting things or assuming that the other person had done/was doing an important task. Hive stopped all that. And it makes us think methodically through all aspects of our work, from onboarding new clients to setting up projects, task assignments, deadlines and so on.

I tried Asana, Wrike, Clickup and TeamGantt before I hit Hive. And boy, what can I say? Simply that, Hive is an amazing software. I love everything this team has achieved with this software: It is very easy to use, so it has a very small learning curve; its Gantt and kanban views are gorgeous; it has instant messages between team members, and you can create and attach notes to every action and project…and the focus mode it’s just great!! At the moment, I don’t think i’m going to try any other software.

I love the fact that Hive has a wide range of add-ons that can enhance the functionalities of the platform on demand. We are a creative team and the Proofing and Approval functionality is fantastic.

Lean and Agile support team that instantly resolves or develops any new requirements that can help enhance the Tool or fix any bugs instantly upon a very simple request, It is a community-oriented and community-focused tool with so many frameworks integrations that you can just think off. Great reporting structure.

What do you dislike about Hive?

There’s nothing to dislike about Hive, This tool provides everything we need to stay on top on the PM game and help you excel further in your career and keep everything simple.

The pricing could be better structured. For example, their automation limits do not scale with the number of seats purchased, and they constrain it to be only 500 automations regardless the team size. If you want to upgrade the jump to the next tier is quite big.

I think I only miss a couple of features that I saw in other software: The ability to set progress percentages for each task, the ability to partially hide a column in the kanban view, as well as setting rules for each kanban column.

Nothing really! Sometimes, it can be easy to say something doesn’t fit or is no good because it ‘forces’ us to approach our work in a different way. We embraced it because we knoew that what we were originally doing was no longer working. I think Hive has the potential to grow and morph with us and when our team grows, it will be vital.

What problems is Hive solving and how is that benefiting you?

Communication

Deadlines

Task assignments

Blockages and pinch points – we knew we had these but weren’t sure where!

It has also improved our onboarding processes as we have created templates to follow.

Hive is helping us get a bird’s-eye view of our projects, as well as maintain order for faster execution of activities to achieve results, which has increased the performance of our business.

As mentioned in the title we were using 3 different software packages. Clockify for time tracking, Trello for Project Management and Slack for internal communication. Oh yeah plus Google sheets to bring everything together and automation software that was syncing data between all these platforms… With Hive we found one solution under the same roof, which is awesome.
