What is Planview AdaptiveWork?
What do you like best?
It is very customizable and able to fit your individual needs
Available with plenty of unique and rich features for creating and managing your projects. Keeping track on all your ongoing projects through this software. It can be used for multiple organizational tasks for creating and managing various project portfolios. It is one of the most configured tools as compared all the other SAAS tools.
I really enjoy that Clarizen One is very customizable. Another great benefit is that our Customer Success Manager, Andrzej Lechowicz, is phenomenal and always attentive no matter how busy he is. Dashboards and reports are pretty easy to create especially if you are someone in IT.
Clarizen is a great project management tool with plenty of useful features. It takes a little to of getting used to but it makes tracking projects and tasks very easy after that.
What do you dislike?
There’s not much to dislike about Clarizen. The initial learning curve of using the tool is quite steep as it’s packed with features but it’s all worth it after wrapping your head around it.
One of the disadvantages at this time of the product is that it is not very friendly for the agile methodology. In order to get it to report out in a way to eliminate double-entry in other systems such as Azure DevOps or Jira, you need 3rd party integrations. We are working through figuring out how to best continue to utilize Clarizen One instead of a new product. We’ve invested a lot in Clarizen and prefer to stay with their solutions.
It is also resource intensive if your project plans are detailed. It can lock up or slow to a crawl. I believe Clarizen is working on this.
Not able to lock the view of the onscreen project. Sometimes, the reporting of your ongoing projects is not up to mark.
You have to understand what it is you need and want, which is much harder than it sounds. Very iterative process. It is a complex beast, you really need someone to be an expert in it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hopefully it will smooth out our peaks and valleys and enable us to have a good idea of when we need to hire staff as opposed to working through a temporary spike.
Using it in my organization to manage all the projects and create reports for more accessible explanation to the clients.
For waterfall projects, we are able to generate project/program cost reports, resource utilization/capacity reports, and create dashboards for our teams and senior leadership.
We are using Clarizen for managing projects and assigning tasks to different engineers internally. Tracking progress on tasks and providing regular updates in the system is making life easier for project managers and engineers.
